This position includes operating a company owned tractor/trailer combination vehicle in varying situations including highway and residential areas. This position also includes all aspects of loading/unloading household goods and transporting them safely and efficiently. Management of moving crews, meeting the customer needs, and taking care of the paperwork (written & electronic) will be included within this position. Role Summary

Requirements include:
- Must have a valid CDL with a clean record (minor violations only).
- Must have 6 months and 5000 miles of CDL experience.
- Must have clean criminal record (no DUI in the last 3 years and no felonies in the last 7 years).
- Must have the ability to manage people.
- Must have a professional attitude and appearance that represents our company well.
- Must be physically capable of heavy lifting.
- Must have the ability to handle all paperwork associated with this industry (including operation of electronic devices).
- Must be trustworthy and responsible.
- Must have the flexibility to work varying schedule throughout the year.
- Living near our home office is not a requirement.
Duties include
- Driving 60,000-80,000 miles per year within the lower 48 states.
- Working approximately 1000-1500 non-driving hours per year.
- Able to travel 14-21 days at a time per the needs of the company.
- Overseeing and executing all aspects of loading, unloading, and transporting household goods.
- Managing crews of 1-5 people to conduct necessary duties to satisfy the needs of our customers.
- Maintaining all necessary paperwork associated with this job including logs, inventories, BOL, DOT docs, etc.
- Basic maintenance and upkeep of company equipment, vehicles, and property.
- Perform auxiliary services including (but not limited to) the following; packing boxes, loading & unloading specialized product (vehicles, commercial equipment, etc.), maintenance/upkeep at KMS warehouse facility, etc.
- Perform local moves (when needed) using a standard moving straight truck.
Benefits
- Mileage pay starts at .52 per mile. Depending on previous experience pay can be as high as .75 per mile.
- Hourly rate (for non-driving labor) starts at $17.00 per hour. Depending on previous experience pay can be as high as $20 p/hr.
- Paid time off starts at 2 weeks per year for first year employees.
- Paid holidays for first year employees are 5 days.
- We pay for waiting time and dead head miles.
- Over the road living expenses allowance provided (ask for details).
